Mercado de Bailén is a very busy chaotic market which looks like an eternal work in progress. Behind the geometric facade, the interior hides a large and totally unintuitive space full of complicated isles and corridors with a high number of closed stalls. The ones open though offer great value, especially in the fish department close to the small rear entrance.  In the middle, there is a building-in-building style cafe with a very peculiar atmosphere.
