The population of the neighbourhood La Palma which was so popular in the sixties demanded the construction of the local market which could provide a basic supply of fresh local food to the neighbourhood. It was founded in 1978 and has served since almost exclusively the need of the local La Palma people. There are 30 operating stalls and you could be fairly sure that all of the visiting customers are the locals from the neighbourhood.
