This guy means business. Same as his neighbours across the aisle this guy usually have a big quantity of 2-3 often different fish or seafood: anchovies, tuna, squid, hakes, octopus are the most common jewels on his shelf. Despite his relatively young age the owner (same as his father and grandfather) is an old-school hard working Malagan without too much grace but with much honesty. Everything in his stall is 100% fresh and always a great deal. In the exaggerated confusing richness of the Atarazanas market in Malaga, my favourite thing is just to go to Carilla and choose one of the fish he has on sale that day. You can spot the owner in the nearby bar Eva having a glass of cold beer after he closes the stall.
This is an interesting strategy but it works very well. The owner told me that while the other stalls can buy one box of one kind a day, he can buy 10 boxes and the price sinks accordingly. He must sell large quantities very quickly so do not expect him to do marvels with his knife for you.
