This stall has a long tradition but to be honest I do not know exactly what all the fuss is about. They always caught my eyes with anchovies from Málaga sold by double the price compared to all the other stands. The Malagans are fanatics in regards to anchovies and they believe the best anchovies come from Málaga and the worse one from Morocco. The malagan ones are meant to be light and silver compared to the dark and black African ones. I suspect a little bit that there is a hidden racism behind it because at first sight, it is impossible to spot the difference between the double priced anchovies from Málaga sold at this stall and all the others. Or they are not from Málaga. I don’t know :-). There is usually not much more on the counter apart from fresh anchovies and anchovies in vinegar.
