This is by far the smallest market in Málaga and of the smallest markets in the world, I would think. It has no more than two operational stalls – one fishmonger and one fruit stall. Considering that it was founded in 1959, this is some achievement. Either the market runs well and then it is logical to extend it, or it runs bad and then it should be close. This one obviously has been running for 6 decades and its turnover has been exactly fine for exactly two stalls, no more and no less.
Pedregalejo was originally a fishermen village but now it accommodates a number of language schools which attract every year a large number of foreign students who transform the character of this neighbourhood.
